I very much appreciated the ease with which the author paints the pictures of his travels, the people he meets, and the food he eats. I am dyslectic. His simple, visual style made this an enjoyable experience. The story is much more than a travel log. It is more about discontent and his resolve to find peace and happiness very late in life. There are several attempts which test his determination including the pandemic lockdown, lifesaving surgery, until what may turn out to be a final attempt. He burns all his past bridges and travels to a country where he knows no one, does not speak the language, and knows not what lies ahead for him. The reader is treated to some loves lost, some found and some mischief along the way.
